The automation of logistics processes, such as palletizing, has grown in recent years due to the need to improve efficiency and reduce costs. The use of artificial intelligence, particularly Deep Reinforcement Learning, offers new opportunities to optimize these systems. However, uncertainty in real-world environments —such as variations in box dimensions or arrival order— remains a major challenge. The goal is to develop strategies that enable robots to adapt to these changing conditions, improving safety, pallet stability, and space utilization.

Layman's summary: We explore how artificial intelligence can make automatic palletizing more flexible and safer.

Techniques employed: Deep reinforcement learning, simulation
